I'm Evangelia (Lila) Kiosidou, PhD — a materials scientist and corrosion engineer with 13+ years of experience across academia, national laboratories, and the aerospace industry, currently expanding into data science and machine learning.

I hold a PhD in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (corrosion science and experimental hydrodynamics) from the National Technical University of Athens, and I'm currently completing an MSc in Data Science at the University of Texas at Austin, alongside a Quantum Science & Technology Certificate from the University of Connecticut.

My work has always centered on turning complex experimental and electrochemical data into meaningful insight — from pitting corrosion in aerospace alloys to antifouling marine coatings to nuclear reactor materials. Now I'm applying that same rigor to statistical modeling, causal inference, and machine learning, with the goal of building predictive, data-driven approaches to materials reliability and asset performance.

This site collects the data science projects I've completed so far — spanning applied Python and R, biostatistics, causal inference, and regression theory — as part of that ongoing journey.
